The Ridge Volunteer Rescue Squad Public Education Committee offers a wide range of services to teach the community about the importance of personal safety. The programs outlined below are just a sample of the services that we can provide to you, your business, club, or child's school. For more information, or to schedule an event, please contact the Ridge VRS by phone (301-872-5970), e-mail (info@ridgevrs.org), or in person.
Talking at Local Schools, Daycares, and Organizational Meetings
Residents of all ages in St. Mary's First District can benefit from learning good safety practices! The emergency medical technicians from the RVRS Public Education Committee are able to provide age-appropriate instruction on topics such as: how to dial 911, camping safety, basic first aid, and what to do in an emergency when faced with a crisis situation. We annually visit the schools in our first due for National EMS Week and Career Day. We can even custom tailor a presentation or a class on specific topics of interest (e.g., Weather Specific Safety, School Carnivals, etc.).

Providing Specialized Training
The RVRS Public Education Committee frequently holds specialized training for schools and organizations in our community. We work with the local Boy and Cub Scouts to provide training on various merit badge related requirements, as well as assist the local Girl Scout Troop with their annual Safety Fair and in becoming certified Babysitters.
Station Tours
Tours of the Rescue Squad can be arranged and given as a group or on an individual basis.
