Ridge Volunteer Rescue Squad Installs 2012 Officers

On December 10th, 2011, the Ridge Volunteer Rescue Squad held its Annual Installation of Officers at the Knights of Columbus Hall located in Ridge, Md. This year was a special year for the Ridge VRS. It is the first year that we had Auxiliary Officers to swear in.

President Dave Lewis of the Maryland State Firemen's Association swore in the Administrative and Operational Officers for 2012. They are:

President Darby Byrd of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Southern Maryland Firemen's Association swore in the 2012 Auxiliary Officers. They are:

Chairperson - Marsha Evans
Co-Chairperson - Cookie McElfresh
Treasurer - Darlene Wood
Secretary - Marie Parish

Our President then awarded her Presidents award to Greg Askew for all his assistance to the Office of President this past year. The Titus Family presented the Joey Titus Leadership Award to Marsha and Brian Evans for all their work in helping to start the Auxiliary of the Ridge Volunteer Rescue Squad. The Chiefs award was given to Joe Greer for all his hard work at the station.

Chris Crossman was selected as Rookie of the Year. On another note, earlier in the day Chris successfully passed his EMT-B test. Congratulations to him.

Squad Member of the Year was awarded to Marsha Evans.

The Officers and Members of the Ridge Volunteer Rescue Squad would like to thank the crew that filled in for us for the Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad.
